Institute 2 Innovate

Empowering Grassroots Organizations Through i2i

Building Capacity

Institute 2 Innovate (i2i) is an innovative capacity-building hub launched by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. i2i empowers statewide community-based organizations by providing tailored support to strengthen infrastructure, increase sustainability, and address their critical capacity needs.

Through an inclusive cohort approach, i2i welcomes organizations at various stages of development, ensuring that everyone benefits from the program. They participate in an individualized capacity building process called PARLOR (Planning, Administration, Resources, Learning, Optimization, Relationships). PALOR is designed to address an organizations' unique needs and help them navigate challenges and seize opportunities for growth and innovation.

GASC agencies are partnering to ensure organizations they fund have opportunities to participate in i2i.

"Vision of Restoration is benefiting a great deal as a participant in the first i2i cohort. Going through this process with like-minded organizations employing different approaches, has been enriching. And while making a huge impact serving our community for over 25 years, we are a small operation, and just needed support to assist in building our capacity. What ICJIA and the state are doing is a game changer for grassroots organizations like ours".
